The recent endeavor by the Child Welfare Society of Kenya to reunite lost children with their families is commendable.

This is inline with the provisions of The Children’s Act regarding the right of the child to parental care.

The joy of one couple who found their lost child is proof of the programme’s impact.

The public also needs to be educated on the importance of supporting other forms of alternative care available for the benefit of children who are not reintegrated with their families.

Foster care placement and adoption save such children from growing up in institutions.
